Warheads to Windmills is putting together DC Lobby days to advocate for the US to enter into negotiations with the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons, as well as supporting the creation and negotiations of a Fossil Fuel Treaty. On July 8th and 9th advocates will meet with key members of congress on these issues. Please join us!
To show their support, we will be asking members of Congress to cosponsor the Nuclear Weapons Abolition and Climate Conversion Act, H.R. 2775, as well as signing the ICAN pledge committing to work towards the US signing and ratifying the Nuclear Ban Treaty. To raise the profile of the serious and active danger that nuclear weapons pose, we are also aiming to get commitments to speak on the floor and into the congressional record about the importance of getting the US to sign the TPNW as a sign of leadership, fulfilment of existing commitments under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, and a first step towards working with the other Nuclear Weapon States to eliminate all nuclear weapons.
